Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 6

The Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for Premier Martial Arts on Friday, September 6th, at 12 pm. The ceremony was held at 321 Independence Blvd. in Dover. Chamber members, ambassadors, and staff members joined owners, Alan and Monica Garcia, in celebrating their new location in the Greentree Shopping Center.

Premier Martial Arts (PMA) seeks to empower lives through the Martial Arts, while fostering integrity, leadership, self-defense, and physical fitness. Since taking ownership of the business 3½ years ago upon the retirement of their mentors, Mr. & Mrs. Jonathan Stewart, the Garcias and their team have worked steadily to grow and introduce members to KRAV MAGA (Israeli Self-Defense) and mixed martial arts. PMA has the distinction of being the only certifiable KRAV MAGA school in Delaware. PMA offers a wide variety of martial arts classes for students age 3 through adulthood. In addition to private lessons for self-defense, they offer Sparring, Kickboxing, Brazilian Ju-Jitsu, Weapons Training, a Children’s After-School Program, Premier Training for Leadership, and Basic & Black Belt Training.

In order to accommodate the growth in their membership, the Garcia’s have moved to a larger facility, but have remained in the immediate area of their former studio. They were thrilled to be able to celebrate this milestone in the company’s growth, welcome new members into a new PMA home, and express gratitude to those who have made this transition possible.

With a strong history of community involvement, Premier Martial Arts has played a significant role in the Dover area. Their work with local school and businesses to promote safety and self-defense has been invaluable. Their team has also provided free Weapon Defense Workshops and has taken part in Capital School District Celebration, Kickboxing with Wesley College Women’s Soccer Team, Dover Days, and the annual Dover African American Festival. As they grow, they are hopeful to be able to reach out to more individuals and families in and throughout the state of Delaware.
