Continuing a tradition spanning over two decades, Delaware Agriculture Week will be held from January 12 to 15, 2026, at the Delaware State Fairgrounds in Harrington. The event aims to unite the agricultural community through various breakout sessions, educational credits, and networking opportunities. Vendors and exhibitors will also be present.

Delaware Secretary of Agriculture Don Clifton remarked on the significance of the event: “For more than two decades, Delaware Agriculture Week has been a focal point of the winter season for farm families all across the region.” He highlighted that attendees could benefit from sessions on agricultural topics and learn about new innovations and practices.

The session schedule includes poultry and fruit discussions on January 12, vegetable and swine talks on January 13, processing vegetables and woodland management on January 14, and agronomy sessions on January 15. Those interested can find more information online at https://sites.udel.edu/delawareagweek. While registration is not mandatory for the entire event, some sessions require pre-registration.

A new feature in 2026 is live webinars for poultry events needing biosecurity measures. In-person attendees are encouraged to register at http://www.udel.edu/0014007 to receive updates if there are schedule changes.

Agriculture remains Delaware’s leading industry with over 76,000 direct jobs and $31 billion in economic activity. The state’s family farms cover 520,000 acres producing corn, soybeans, wheat, poultry, fruits, and vegetables.

Cory Whaley from the University of Delaware Extension noted: “Delaware Ag Week continues to be a valuable opportunity for learning, networking, and sharing ideas.” The event is organized by the Delaware Department of Agriculture along with other local institutions.
