Delaware announces overnight closures on I-95 for bridge work

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced overnight closures on sections of I-95 and Rt 72 for bridge painting and parapet work. The affected areas include both northbound and southbound lanes.

From Monday, November 3rd to Thursday, November 6th, there will be multi-lane closures on northbound I-95 from the Toll Plaza to the Rt 896 Interchange. The closures will occur from 10 PM to 5 AM on Monday, extending until 7 AM from Tuesday through Thursday. On Monday, November 3rd, southbound I-95 will also experience a multi-lane closure from the Welcome Center to the Rt 896 Interchange between 8 PM and 6 AM.

Additionally, an overnight lane shift and shoulder closure are scheduled for Wednesday, November 5th and Thursday, November 6th on the southbound I-95 off-ramp to northbound Rt 896. This will take place from 7 PM to 7 AM.

On Wednesday, November 5th, both directions of Rt 72 between Bellevue Road and Old Baltimore Pike will have an overnight lane closure from 7 PM to 7 AM.

These measures are part of ongoing maintenance efforts by DelDOT aimed at improving infrastructure safety and efficiency in New Castle County.
