The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced upcoming changes to the traffic patterns at the I-95/Rt 896 interchange. These changes are scheduled to occur overnight from Thursday, September 25, into Friday, September 26, as part of an ongoing project to improve the interchange. The adjustments will take place weather permitting.

A new ramp connecting Rt 896 southbound to I-95 northbound is set to open for traffic. Additionally, there will be a temporary closure affecting northbound Rt 896 between Old Baltimore Pike and the I-95 interchange. This closure includes the northbound Rt 896 on-ramp to northbound I-95 and is necessary for removing the “contra-flow” traffic pattern currently in place on northbound Rt 896.

DelDOT encourages the public to stay informed about construction-related closures by visiting their project website at 95896improvements.com. Visitors can sign up for text or email alerts through this site.
