Delaware announces roadwork-related lane closures impacting I-95 and nearby routes

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced upcoming lane closures on I-95 and surrounding routes due to ongoing construction work. The closures will occur overnight from Monday to Thursday on I-95 southbound for bridge painting, barrier, and sign structure work. Additionally, there will be overnight lane closures on Route 896 southbound on Tuesday and Thursday for a traffic pattern switch.

Daytime lane closures are also scheduled for Route 72 in both directions from Monday through Thursday for bridge work. Overnight closures on the same route will take place Monday and Tuesday for preliminary bridge deck work.

Specific impacts include multi-lane closures on southbound I-95 from the Route 896 Interchange to the Toll Plaza from October 20th through October 23rd. These will occur at varying times each night. There will also be shoulder closures on the southbound I-95 off-ramp to southbound Route 896 during daytime hours.

On Route 896, overnight lane closures are planned from Welsh Tract Road to the I-95 Interchange on October 21st and October 23rd. For Route 72, daytime lane closures between Bellevue Road and Brookhill Drive are set from October 20th through October 24th, with additional overnight closures scheduled for October 20th and October 21st.
