The Delaware Department of Transportation announced the closure of Camp Barnes Road between Millers Neck Road and Bayard Road starting April 13 through April 27, weather permitting, for the installation of storm drains and reconstruction of the roadway.

During this period, motorists on Double Bridges Road who wish to travel east on Camp Barnes Road will be directed to continue straight onto Bayard Road, turn left onto Old Mill Bridge Road, and then turn left onto Millers Neck Road where the route will end on Camp Barnes Road.

Motorists traveling west from Camp Barnes Road past Millers Neck Road will be instructed to turn left onto Millers Neck Road, make a right turn onto Old Mill Bridge Road, and then turn right onto Bayard Road where the route will end back on Camp Barnes Road.

The department said these detours are necessary to facilitate the safe installation of storm drains and ensure proper reconstruction of the affected roadway segment. The timeline is subject to change depending on weather conditions.
