Delaware Department of Transportation announces closure of Georgetown to Lewes Trail for tree work

The Delaware Department of Transportation announced on March 12 that the Georgetown to Lewes Trail will be closed from Cool Spring Road to Savannah Road starting Monday, March 16 through Wednesday, March 25, weather permitting. The closure will take place daily between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. for tree clearing operations.

The temporary closure is intended to allow necessary maintenance work along the trail segment. The department said this schedule is subject to change depending on weather conditions.

According to the announcement, “The Delaware Department of Transportation announces the Georgetown to Lewes Trail will be closed from Cool Spring Road to Savannah Road starting Monday, March 16th through Wednesday, March 25th (weather permitting) between 8am and 5pm daily for tree clearing operations.”
