The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced upcoming lane closures on Upper Pike Creek Road in New Castle County for hazardous tree removal.

The closures will take place in several sections over the course of a week. On Monday and Tuesday, March 2nd and 3rd, work will occur between Linden Hill Road and Paper Mill Road. On Wednesday, March 4th, the affected area will be between Route 2 and Old Coach Road. The project will continue on Thursday and Friday, March 5th and 6th, between Old Coach Road and Linden Hill Road.

According to the department, there are several trees being removed in each section, which may cause access routes to vary throughout the project. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect minor delays in the area.

For more information about the lane closures or updates on the project, residents can visit the DelDOT website at www.deldot.gov or download the DelDOT app. Further details can be found at the Delaware Department of Transportation’s official release.
