The Delaware Forest Service is set to host its 11th annual Arborist and Tree Care Seminar on February 23-24, 2026, at the Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. This two-day event aims to provide professional development for arborists and urban forestry professionals in Delaware. The seminar will offer training on the latest arboriculture techniques and principles, alongside opportunities for industry networking.
Taryn Davidson, Urban and Community Forestry Coordinator for the Delaware Forest Service, said: “The Arborist and Tree Care Seminar is the only event of its kind in Delaware, exclusively offered by the Delaware Forest Service, where tree care professionals come together to learn together.” She added that the seminar will focus on topics such as tree health, safety, and best management practices through both classroom settings and hands-on demonstrations.
The agenda includes sessions led by experts like Mark Chisholm from Aspen Tree and STIHL, Scott Sjolander from Penn State Extension, Jill Pollok from the University of Delaware, Pablo Oropeza from Kendall Vegetation Services, David Ruyak from the International Society of Arboriculture’s Penn-Dell Chapter, and Sam Topper from the Delaware Forest Service. Attendees can earn up to 11.5 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) from the International Society of Arboriculture.
The seminar will be held at Winterthur Museum with sessions running from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Registration costs $310 for both days and includes meals. Interested participants can register until February 22 via this link: Eventbrite. For further details or sponsorship inquiries, contact Taryn Davidson at taryn.davidson@delaware.gov.
