The Delaware Forest Service has announced the opening of the 2026 Arbor Day Poster Contest, inviting students from public and private schools, homeschool groups, and organized youth programs serving grades K–5 to participate. The contest aims to engage students in celebrating Arbor Day through creativity. This year’s theme is “Trees are Terrific…for People and Places!”, emphasizing the role of trees in fostering healthier communities by providing oxygen, food, shade, and emotional well-being.

Teachers and youth leaders can register their classes for the contest by March 6 via an online form. Poster submissions are due by March 20. Participants will receive further details from the Delaware Forest Service upon registration. Arbor Day in Delaware is set for April 24.

The contest is one of the largest youth conservation initiatives in Delaware, inspiring thousands of students annually to learn about trees and environmental care. For more information, contact Ashley Melvin at Ashley.Melvin@delaware.gov or visit the registration link provided.

Stephanie Alexander serves as the media contact for this event at the Delaware Forest Service.
