The University of Delaware men’s basketball program announced on April 24 the signing of Chuck Bailey III for the 2026-27 season. Head coach Martin Ingelsby said Bailey III will join the Fightin’ Blue Hens after spending two seasons at Nevada.
Bailey III’s addition is expected to strengthen Delaware’s lineup with his experience and scoring ability. Ingelsby said, “We’re excited to officially welcome Chuck to the Blue Hen basketball family. He is an experienced, three-level scorer who will make an immediate impact for us and we can’t wait to get him back to campus. Welcome to the 302, Chuck!”
During his last season at Nevada, Bailey III started in 14 out of 33 games played, averaging 18 minutes and scoring 6.3 points per game. He recorded shooting percentages of 38.7 percent from the field, nearly 40 percent from three-point range, and over 74 percent from the free throw line. His season included a standout performance with a season-high of 24 points in a game against Louisiana Tech and five successful three-pointers in that matchup.
Bailey III also played his freshman year at Evansville where he was named to the Missouri Valley Conference All-Bench Team during the 2023-24 season and earned MVC Freshman of the Week honors four times. Before college, he was recognized as a four-star prospect by ESPN and ranked among Michigan’s top players.
The program encouraged fans to follow Delaware men’s basketball on social media platforms for updates about Bailey III’s arrival and other team news.
