The University of Delaware men’s lacrosse team received seven Atlantic 10 postseason awards in its first year in the conference, according to an April 29 announcement by the league. Three players earned spots on the A-10 All-Conference Second Team, while three others were named to the A-10 All-Rookie Team. One player also received recognition for academic achievement.
The team’s strong performance was highlighted by Nick Cowen, Tyler Owings, and Brendan Powers earning A-10 All-Conference Second Team honors. Scott Conte, Keegan Lathrop, and Colton Silverstein were placed on the A-10 All-Rookie Team. Cowen was additionally recognized on the A-10 All-Academic Team for his achievements as a graduate international business major with a 3.75 GPA.
Cowen led Delaware in caused turnovers with 26 and started all 13 games this season. His average of just over two caused turnovers per game ranked him fourth in the conference and thirteenth nationally. Owings contributed a team-high eight assists and finished fourth overall in points for Delaware while playing every game this season.
Powers led Delaware with 20 goals and tallied four hat tricks during his senior campaign, finishing his collegiate career tied for twenty-fifth in program history with 119 points. Conte stood out at faceoff positions with third-most wins and ground balls in the conference, achieving several weekly honors throughout the season including Defensive Player of the Week.
Lathrop had a breakout first year with fifteen goals and eighteen points over eleven games played, earning Rookie of the Week after scoring five points against Hobart. Silverstein took over as starting goalkeeper late in the season, posting strong statistics including two games with eighteen saves each—third most recorded in a single league game this year—and winning Defensive Player of the Week twice.
Looking ahead, these recognitions mark a successful debut for Delaware men’s lacrosse within their new conference.
