The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced a lane closure on southbound Interstate 95 to replace damaged acrylic panels on the Wilmington Viaduct. The work is scheduled from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 25, or Thursday, February 26 if weather causes delays.
The closure will affect the stretch of I-95 from the Jackson Street off-ramp to the 2nd Street on-ramp. Motorists are advised to use caution and expect minor delays in the area.
According to the Delaware Department of Transportation, this maintenance is necessary due to damage sustained by the acrylic panels along this section of highway. The department said that these repairs are part of ongoing efforts to maintain infrastructure safety and reliability.
