On Feb. 25, 2026, the Delaware Department of Transportation announced that Phase 3B of the Kenton Road improvement project will be implemented, weather permitting.

The department said that during this phase, Kenton Road will operate with a single lane of traffic in each direction for both northbound and southbound travel. Motorists should also expect shoulder closures and temporary lane closures in the area.

The next significant traffic impact is anticipated in summer 2026, when a full closure of Kenton Road between Turnberry Drive and Mapledale Road will be required. The department said additional details about this closure will be provided as the date approaches.

Motorists are advised to use caution in the area and expect minor delays. For more information and project updates, residents can visit www.kentonroadimprovements.com.

More details are available from the Delaware Department of Transportation.
