DelDOT announces Poplar Street Bridge painting project with detours starting December 8

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) is set to begin work on the Poplar Street Bridge over Williams Pond in Seaford on Monday, December 8, 2025. This project is part of a statewide bridge painting initiative.

The operations will require a full detour of Poplar Street, which will last for up to 30 days. Northbound drivers will be redirected via Middleford Road and Front Street to reach Poplar Street. Southbound drivers will take Front Street and Middleford Road to arrive at their destination.

Motorists are advised to exercise caution in the work zone and anticipate minor travel delays. Additional information can be found on DelDOT’s website at www.deldot.gov or by tuning into WTMC-AM 1380.
