DelDOT announces road closures on S. Governors Avenue in Dover for water main work

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced road closures on South Governors Avenue in Dover for water main work. The closures will take place from Monday, August 4, to Friday, August 8, weather permitting.

From Monday, August 4, to Wednesday, August 6, South Governors Avenue will be closed between Bank Lane and West North Street. From Wednesday, August 6, to Friday, August 8, the closure will extend from West Loockerman Street to West North Street.

Detours have been established for drivers. For southbound traffic on South Governors Avenue: turn right onto West North Street, left onto South New Street, and left onto Bank Lane. For northbound traffic: turn left onto Bank Lane, right onto South New Street, and right onto West North Street.

An alternative detour is available for northbound traffic on South Governors Avenue: turn left onto West North Street, right onto South New Street, and right onto West Loockerman Street. For southbound traffic: turn right onto West Loockerman Street, left onto South New Street, and left onto West North Street.
