The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced the permanent closure of Devon Road at Mill Pond Acres in Lewes. This closure is set to begin on the night of Tuesday, September 2, 2025. The closure is part of Phase 2C of the SR 1 Minos Conaway Road project.

According to DelDOT, the road will be closed when a contractor installs a pinned barrier wall as part of this phase. The changes aim to enhance safety by eliminating crossover access from SR 1 and facilitating clearing and grubbing operations for future construction phases.

No local detour will be provided, so motorists are advised to plan for alternate routes. Further details about the project can be found on the SR 1, Minos Conaway Road Grade Separated Intersection Project Website.
