Delaware Technical Community College announced on April 27 that Madison Fox and Brooke Widdoes were named Eastern Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Batter of the Week and Pitcher of the Week, respectively, for their performances during games played from April 13 to April 19.
The recognition highlights the achievements of student-athletes in collegiate softball. Both Fox and Widdoes contributed significantly to Delaware Tech’s success in recent games.
Fox, a sophomore catcher from Caesar Rodney High School, achieved a .647 batting average by recording 11 hits in 17 at-bats over six games. She also hit two doubles and one triple, drove in nine runs, and scored six times during this period.
Widdoes, a sophomore pitcher from Appoquinimink High School, appeared in four games as a pitcher. She recorded three wins without any losses, struck out fourteen batters, allowed fourteen hits and four walks, and gave up only three earned runs across eighteen innings pitched.
Both players played key roles as Delaware Tech secured National Junior College Athletic Association Region 19 victories against Raritan Valley Community College, Lackawanna College, and County College of Morris.
The college regularly recognizes outstanding athletic performance among its students through such awards.
