The University of Delaware announced on May 1 that Hailey Anderson has joined the Fightin’ Blue Hens women’s ice hockey team as its first transfer of the offseason. Head coach Allison Coomey said Anderson, a forward from Greer, South Carolina, will be part of the roster for the 2026-27 season after transferring from Franklin Pierce University.
Anderson played two seasons at Franklin Pierce University, where she contributed to a conference championship and helped the program reach its first NCAA Tournament appearance in 2026. During her sophomore year in the 2025-26 season, Anderson appeared in 35 games, scored nine goals, and recorded thirteen assists. She also won 124 faceoffs and blocked twenty-eight shots. In that season, she had five multi-point games and registered points in seven consecutive games between February and March.
In her freshman year during the 2024-25 season at Franklin Pierce, Anderson played twenty-nine games with two goals and three assists. She was named to the New England Women’s Hockey Alliance All-Academic Team.
Before college, Anderson attended Shattuck St. Mary’s for high school hockey where she served as a four-year captain and helped lead her team to a national championship as a senior in 2023. She was named offensive player of the year in 2022 and earned team MVP honors twice during her high school career. Additionally, she played for Philadelphia Jr. Flyers—winning a district championship—and also competed with Carolina Rage Hockey Club (boys) as captain.
Anderson comes from an athletic family; her father Darren is an Iowa State Hall of Fame inductee who won a national club championship there while her uncle Darcy played professionally overseas and in North America. Her sister Gracie played ice hockey at Michigan State while brother Dawson plays in junior leagues.
