Horizon Congo Mining announced on April 18 that it has entered the active field validation phase of its mining project in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
This step marks a move from planning and institutional structuring to hands-on operations in key mining regions. The company said it has finished developing legal frameworks, operational plans, and investor positioning, and is now focusing on identifying and validating real mining opportunities through direct fieldwork.
According to Horizon Congo Mining, teams are working across several provinces to identify active sites, document findings in real time, conduct preliminary geological assessments, and engage with local stakeholders. The company stated that only opportunities validated by field data will be considered for investment. Each site is assessed for mineral potential, accessibility, operational feasibility, and engagement with local communities.
The approach aims to reduce uncertainty for investors by creating a pipeline of projects that meet international standards. Horizon Congo Mining said its collaboration with FasterCapital’s LaunchUp program continues to provide support in execution readiness and strategic development. This includes help with milestone planning, preparing fundraising materials, governance structuring, and tracking progress.
Hesham Zreik, Founder and CEO of FasterCapital said: “We are pleased to continue supporting Horizon Congo Mining through LaunchUp as they focus on execution priorities, milestone tracking, and ecosystem engagement.” Louison Uchama Kanza, Founder and CEO of Horizon Congo Mining said: “The project has entered full execution mode with a focus on identifying real mining opportunities on the ground and structuring them into investment-ready assets.”
As part of its ongoing efforts in the DRC’s resource sector, Horizon Congo Mining reported it is engaging strategic investors as well as local operators under a framework designed for scalability. The company also noted its commitment to aligning governance structures with both local regulations and international expectations.
