Jane Dunavant’s 3-year-old trotting filly, Kat’s Fancy, is on the brink of achieving a second Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) series sweep this season. The filly secured a win in the $20,000 second round of the December DSBF series at Bally’s Dover on Monday, December 8. Driven by Cody Poliseno and trained by Carlo Poliseno, Kat’s Fancy led unchallenged through fractions of :28.4, :58.2, and 1:28.3 before fending off a challenge from Take It Easy, driven by Ross Wolfenden. Holly Lou finished third.

Kat’s Fancy has accumulated 10 wins and $218,317 in earnings from 25 starts. She previously completed a summer DSBF series sweep at Harrington Raceway with a significant victory in the $110,000 final on July 17. She aims for her second DSBF championship of the season in the upcoming $110,000 Dover series final on Monday, December 15.

Other qualifiers for the final include Take It Easy, Holly Lou, Marino Bluestone, Song Master, Peggys Girl, Buttoncandy, and Saints Design. Additionally, sophomore male trotters will compete in two $20,000 DSBF second-round preliminary races at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday, December 9.

The Delaware Department of Agriculture oversees these events as part of its efforts to support local agriculture and horse racing industries.
