Kristina Baugh has been appointed as the new assistant coach and recruiting coordinator for the University of Delaware women’s basketball team, head coach Sarah Jenkins announced on May 1.
The hiring of Baugh brings a coach with extensive experience across multiple collegiate programs to the Fightin’ Blue Hens. Jenkins said, “I am thrilled to welcome Kristina to our coaching staff. She brings a wealth of coaching experience and knowledge across multiple levels, including as a head coach, and we are excited to see the positive impact she will make on our players and program.”
Baugh most recently served as an assistant women’s basketball coach at Boston College during the 2025-26 season. Reflecting on her new role, Baugh said, “I’m incredibly honored to join the University of Delaware, Coach Jenkins, and her women’s basketball program. This is a special community built on strong values, competitive excellence, and genuine connection. I’m excited to support our student-athletes, help them grow on and off the court, and contribute to the continued success of this program.”
Before joining Boston College, Baugh spent two seasons at Stetson University where she helped achieve consecutive winning seasons for the first time since 2016-18 along with a Women’s National Invitation Tournament appearance in 2023-24. She also previously led Barry University’s team as head coach from 2020-23; under her leadership they reached significant milestones including their first Sunshine State Conference Tournament semifinal since 2018.
Earlier in her career at UMass-Boston, Baugh posted an overall record of 87-49 over five seasons—including two twenty-win campaigns—and led them to their first Little East Conference Tournament Championship in school history during the 2017-18 season.
Baugh’s background also includes stints at Central Connecticut State University as an assistant coach where teams made Northeast Conference tournament appearances; leading men’s professional basketball with Carolina Cheetahs in their inaugural postseason; plus earlier roles at Winston-Salem State and NJIT.
Baugh graduated from Providence College in 2007 after playing four seasons with its women’s basketball team.
