The closures will occur between Van Buren Avenue and Dukes Avenue starting Monday, January 5, 2026, and are expected to continue until April 30, 2026. This is part of the project to replace the SR 54 bridge over the channel between Little Assawoman Bay and Assawoman Bay.

The scheduled times for lane closures are as follows: Sunday from 7 PM to Monday at noon; Monday from 4 PM to Tuesday at 4 PM; Tuesday from 6 PM to Wednesday at 4 PM; Wednesday from 6 PM to Thursday at 4 PM; Thursday from 6 PM to Friday at 10 AM; Friday from 8 PM to Saturday at 9 AM; and Saturday from 7 PM to Sunday at 9 AM.

Motorists are advised by the Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) to slow down in work zones and anticipate minor delays while traveling through the area. Additional information can be found on DelDOT’s website or by tuning into WTMC-AM 1380.
