Main Street railroad crossing in Middletown to close for safety improvements

The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced a temporary closure of the railroad crossing on Main Street in Middletown. The closure, located between Peterson Road and Wood Road, is set to begin at 5:00 am on Thursday, July 31st, and will continue until no later than 10:00 pm on Sunday, August 10th.

During this period, DelDOT will conduct rehabilitation work on the crossing. This includes installing new railroad warning signals, modifying sidewalks, and paving the approaches to the crossing. The closure will be in effect around the clock.

A detour will be in place for motorists. Drivers are advised to exercise caution and anticipate minor delays in the vicinity. Additional information can be found on the DelDOT website at www.deldot.gov, through the DelDOT app, or by tuning into 1380 am, WTMC.
