The Delaware State men’s and women’s track and field teams competed at the Princeton Larry Ellis Invite, according to a May 4 announcement, with Miriam Okwudibonye delivering a standout performance.

Okwudibonye secured first place in the women’s 400-meter hurdles elite section, finishing with a time of 58.60. This result is now ranked as the second-fastest in Delaware State history and marks the second-best time of her career.

Kahlia Smith also contributed for Delaware State by running the women’s 400-meter dash elite section in 56.63 seconds. In other events, Rebecca Jansen completed the women’s 5000 meters with a time of 18:03.54, while Valerie Ashamu cleared a height of 1.68 meters in the high jump.

The Hornets aim to build on these performances as they continue their outdoor season.
