Purdue University announced on April 27 that registration is still available for the Excellence in Research Distinguished Lectures event, scheduled for May 6. The event will honor recipients of the university’s most prestigious research awards.

The lectures recognize significant contributions by faculty members and offer the campus community an opportunity to learn about leading research at Purdue. Each year, winners of three major awards are invited to present a lecture based on their work and formally receive their honors during the annual Faculty Honors Ceremony and Celebration.

This year’s awardees include Laura Murray-Kolb, who will receive the Lu Ann Aday Award; Tongcang Li, who will be presented with the Arden L. Bement Jr. Award; and Songlin Fei, recipient of the Herbert Newby McCoy Award.

The event will take place in Purdue Memorial Union’s East/West Faculty Lounges. Breakfast and networking begin at 9 a.m., followed by lectures from 9:30 to 11 a.m., and concluding with a reception from 11 to 11:30 a.m.

Registration for those interested in attending remains open online.
