The Delaware Department of Transportation has announced a road closure on Steiner Road, located between Lewes Georgetown Highway and Hollis Road. This closure is scheduled to begin on Monday, December 1st, and is expected to last until Friday, January 16th, 2026, depending on weather conditions. The closure is part of a project for roadway reconstruction.

During this period, detours will be in place for motorists. Those traveling eastbound on US 9/Georgetown Lewes Highway intending to head south on Steiner Road should turn right onto SR 30/Gravel Hill Road, then right onto Hollis Road to return to Steiner Road. Westbound travelers on the same highway should turn left onto SR 30/Gravel Hill Road and then right onto Hollis Road to reach Steiner Road.

Motorists heading northbound on Hollis Road who wish to continue north on Steiner Road will need to turn left onto SR 30/Gravel Hill Road and then left again onto US 9/Georgetown Lewes Highway before returning to Steiner Road. Similarly, those traveling westbound on Hollis Road aiming for northbound travel on Steiner Road should turn right onto SR 30/Gravel Hill Road and then left onto US 9/Georgetown Lewes Highway.
