Name: Fire & Ice "Out of this World" Drink Competition

Event Description:
Join the Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce on Sunday, January 19, from 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM for the Fire & Ice "Out of this World" Drink Competition featuring Dogfish Head Spirits. Local bartenders will compete head-to-head to have their drink awarded the "Out of this World" Fire & Ice 2020 winner! Bethany Blues in downtown Bethany Beach is hosting the event. All patrons will be able to vote for their favorite drink alongside a celebrity panel! Music will be provided by DJ Bump.

Competition Ticket Sales
Your tasting card will allow you a tasting from each bartender, a vote for your favorite drink, and eats from Bethany Blues! All ticket sales will benefit Nemours duPont Pediatrics & SeniorCare, Sussex Campus. Tickets are available now and will be available until Saturday, January 18 for $40. Only 200 tickets will be available for purchase, so buy yours today!

Megan Ryan - Delaware Today: Meg's passion for magazines stems from a young age while growing up in Bucks County, Pennsylvania. This passion shows through her early career at various publications as an editor and writer. Before joining Delaware Today in 2019, Meg spent two years at Delmarva Now on Maryland's Eastern Shore as a reporter covering education and entertainment. A proud Louisiana State University alumna, she was editor-in-chief of Legacy, the LSU student magazine; a contributing writer for the LSU Alumni Magazine; and a writer and editor for The Daily Reveille, the LSU student newspaper. Meg also interned for 225 Magazine, which covers the city of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and The Desert Sun, a newspaper in Palm Springs, California.
Kathy McDonald - La Vida Hospitality: Kathy McDonald is the Catering Director for Fork & Flask (formerly known as Nage Catering) and the Big Chill Beach Club. She loves making lifelong memories for all the couples who work with her to plan their special event. Prior to starting with La Vida, with a 2 year break in Key West, Kathy worked as Director of Operations for a large restaurant group in Washington, D.C. and Delaware. Kathy enjoys working with different non-profit groups, firmly believes in conscious capitalism and that giving and community involvement are crucial to a successful business plan. When not working, she loves to travel, eats at local restaurants, and studies drawing.
Bob The Foodie - Rehoboth Foodie: Bob Yesbek, aka The Rehoboth Foodie, is a weekly food and restaurant columnist for Delaware's Cape Gazette and Beach Paper newspapers. He also hosts a weekly radio show on Delaware 105.9FM entitled "Sip & Bite with the Rehoboth Foodie;" covering all aspects of the food industry on Delmarva and neighboring areas. For over 14 years, RehobothFoodie.com has provided restaurant news and reviews for the Sussex County, DE ocean and bay resorts. For the last 10 years, he has been the author of the popular travel app Rehoboth in my Pocket. He is also part owner of the Eating Rehoboth restaurant tours, now in its 9th year
Kami Banks Kane - Banks Wines & Spirits: Kami has been at Banks Wines & Spirits since its inception in 2003. She is responsible for ordering, special events, deliveries, and invoicing. Her favorite part of Banks Wines & Spirits is helping customers with wine selections. Her favorite drink of choice is wine, specifically rose and sparkling wines but she always loves a good cocktail too. When she isn?t at Banks, she is active in our local community supporting organizations such as Delaware Botanic Garden, Delaware Hospice, and Beebe Healthcare.
Drink Competition Guidelines
All drinks will be created with one of the following Dogfish Head Spirits: Analog Vodka, Barrell Honey Rum, or Compelling Gin.
All drinks will be judged by a celebrity panel & patrons.
All drinks will be measured on the following criteria:

Best Themed "Out of this World" Beverage
Fire & Ice Drink Tasting Tour
Join us the following weekend for the Fire & Ice Festival Drink Tasting Tour. During the weekend, folks will be able to purchase a Tasting Tour Card for $20. The cards, which will be honored throughout the weekend, allow patrons to visit each participating restaurant for its version of the 2020 Fire & Ice drink. Stay to enjoy lunch or dinner after you finish with the tasting tour. Purchase tickets online until January 22 for $20. Proceeds will benefit Nemours duPont Pediatrics & SeniorCare, Sussex Campus.
