Options available for those seeking employment

For those who have lost jobs to the wrath of the coronavirus pandemic, there are answers right around the corner.

Retail businesses along with distribution companies and food service are looking to fill their ranks with new employees amidst new demands. Although the Economic Policy Institute predicts 16,000 jobs will be lost in the state of Delaware by summer, there are a number of options that offer a soft landing.

Delaware Online reported Amazon is looking to hire 100,000 full and part-time employees to meet the demand for delivery services. Dot Foods is another distributorship looking to fill its ranks.

Perdue, a chicken, turkey and pork processing company, is looking for labor and CSC would like to fill a number of office positions. Both Walgreens and CVS Health seek additional help as are retail mainstays Walmart and Dollar General.

Albertsons Company, which owns ACME and Safeway would like to bolster its workforce along with ShopRite. Arby's and Domino’s Pizza offers options in the fast food industry.
