A website has been created to allow individuals to request refunds for the donations they made to President Joe Biden's reelection campaign after he dropped out of the race on July 21.

The site, BidenRefunds.com, has a form to fill out for users who "contributed to Joe Biden to save Democracy" because they supported Biden, but now want a refund because "the Biden campaign no longer exists, and now your contribution has gone to another presidential candidate without your consent."

"In fact, every single 2024 Joe Biden donor is now a Kamala Harris donor, whether they like it or not," the website claims.

Federal Election Commission (FEC) Chairman Sean Cooksey, who was appointed under former President Donald Trump, posted a piece of regulation on his X account which said "if the candidate is not a candidate in the general election, all contributions made for the general election shall be either returned or refunded to the contributors or redesignated ..., or reattributed ..., as appropriate."

The question of whether Vice President Kamala Harris can claim the funds from the Biden campaign since she was on the campaign ticket alongside him has not been officially determined yet, however many say she has claims to the funds, according to NPR.

On Thursday, July 25, Citizens United, David Bossie, and seventeen other GOP parties from across the country filed a complaint with the FEC against Harris and her campaign for "brazen violations of federal campaign finance law by misappropriating $96 million in Biden for President campaign funds," according to a press release from Citizens United. The complaint requests that the FEC “immediately initiate enforcement proceedings to prevent Harris from using her ill-gotten gains for her campaign in the little time remaining between now and the November general election.”

David Bossie is the president of Citizens United, a conservative nonprofit advocacy group that focuses on election security. They were joined in the complaint by GOP parties from Arkansas, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Carolina, Tennessee, Utah and Wyoming.
