A Sussex County man pleaded guilty on April 30 to transporting a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity, according to an announcement by U.S. Attorney Benjamin L. Wallace and FBI Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul.

The case concerns Miles Clark, age 22, who admitted in court that he transported a 12-year-old girl from a church near her home in Pennsylvania to his residence in Delaware, where they engaged in sexual intercourse. Court documents show that Clark and the victim first met through Snapchat about one week before the incident. Their online conversations quickly became sexual, with Clark describing various sex acts and sending videos of himself masturbating. Authorities said Clark was aware of the victim’s age at all times.

Clark pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika to transportation of a minor for criminal sexual activity. He faces up to life imprisonment with a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years; sentencing is scheduled for August 27, 2026. The actual sentence will be determined by the judge based on federal guidelines and other statutory factors.

The investigation was conducted by the FBI’s Delaware Violent Crime and Safe Streets Task Force with help from Delaware State Police Troop 4. Assistant U.S. Attorney Claudia L. Pare is prosecuting the case.

This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, which brings together federal, state, and local resources to address child exploitation crimes nationwide. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found at https://www.justice.gov/psc.
