Valtech RADON, the creative studio of Valtech, announced on April 21 that its Condom Call campaign for the Swedish Association for Sexuality Education (RFSU) received Gold in the Public Service Information category and Silver in the Influencer category at the Spinn Awards. The awards highlight campaigns that achieve measurable impact in Sweden.

The recognition points to Valtech’s approach of using creative innovation to influence real-world behavior. The Condom Call campaign aimed to address a common issue in sexual health: many young people intend to use protection but often do not follow through due to forgetfulness or lack of preparation. Instead of focusing solely on awareness, Valtech developed a platform allowing friends to send timely reminders via SMS and social media, making condom use a shared responsibility among peers.

David DeCheser, Global Chief Creative Officer at Valtech, said, “The insight was simple: It was never an awareness problem. It was a timing problem. So, we stopped trying to reach them on the couch and started reaching them on the way out the door — through the one voice they’d actually listen to. Their friends.”

The campaign used humor and relatable messaging by involving influencers as well as unexpected voices like sex educators and even fictional characters such as “your brain” or chlamydia. This strategy aimed to cut through stigma while engaging young audiences where they are most active online. The initiative led over 80,000 Condom Calls being shared; nearly half of recipients visited the platform; about 45% continued sharing messages; and earned media reached more than seven million across Nordic countries.

Anette Otterström, Head of Brand & Communication Nordic at RFSU said, “Together with Valtech RADON, we created something that feels natural within youth culture while addressing an important public health need. These awards recognize not only the creativity but the tangible difference the campaign has made.”

Valtech’s recognition at Spinn Awards underscores its role in combining creativity with technology and human insight for cultural relevance and measurable outcomes.
