First-round winners Watch Em Win and Slugger On Deck secured victories as favorites in the $20,000 second-round splits of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders’ Fund (DSBF) for 2-year-old male pacers at Bally’s Dover on Thursday, November 13. South Of The Hood also claimed a win in his division.

Watch Em Win, driven by Tim Tetrick, followed a previous strong performance with a decisive victory. After setting early splits of :30, :59.2, and 1:27.4, he finished with a sprint home in :26.3 to defeat Arette by 9-1/4 lengths in 1:54.2. Ron Burke trains Watch Em Win for Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Phil Collura, and Weaver Bruscemi. The colt has won seven out of eleven career races and earned $130,558.

Slugger On Deck, driven by Allan Davis, cleared Iheartmum after a first quarter of :27.4 and faced pressure from C Millertimeagain through the far turn before winning by 1-1/4 lengths in 1:53.3. Trained by Jim King Jr., Slugger On Deck is owned by Jo Ann Looney-King and has six wins with $61,990 in earnings from nine starts.

South Of The Hood completed the trio of winners with Montrell Teague driving him to a two-length victory over Stained Glass and Roman Raider in a non-wagering division. Clyde Francis trains South Of The Hood for David Collins and George Teague Jr. Inc.

Watch Em Win and Slugger On Deck lead the group of eight rookie male pacers qualified for the $110,000 series championship on November 20. Other qualifiers include South Of The Hood, Roman Raider, Stained Glass, C Millertime Again, Arette, and He’s Peeping.

The second-round preliminary action continues on Monday, November 17 with events featuring 2-year-old trotting fillies at Bally’s Dover starting at 4:10 p.m.
