BETHANY-FENWICK AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE: Turning Points: Managing Your Business Through Crisis & Opportunities

Bethany-Fenwick Area Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on Sept. 9

On Thursday, October 3rd SCORE Delaware will host a business workshop, Turning Points: Managing Your Business Through Crisis & Opportunities, at The Den at Bear Trap Dunes from 8:00 am – 11:00 am.

This free public event, sponsored by the Bethany Fenwick-Area Chamber of Commerce, Coastal Point, the Small Business Administration and Tidemark Federal Credit Union, will feature a panel of four local business owners who are well established in the community. Panelists will share stories of overcoming crisis within their businesses, or successfully taking advantage of an opportunity and the challenges that came along with it.

The event includes a complimentary breakfast, a panel presentation, Q&A session with panelists, and networking. Registration is required as seating is limited. There is no cost to attend the event. You can register online here.

Keynote Speaker, Jack Burbage

Blue Water Development

Blue Water Development was founded in 1991 when John purchased his first development in 1991. Joining forces with his two sons, they purchased three more developments, as well as two commercial properties and a campground. The men then shifted their focus toward the hospitality industry, and the corporation now owns six upscale campgrounds, nine hotels, and additional hospitality attractions.

Adrian Mobilia

Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery

After moving to Delaware in 2008, Mobilia opened Fenwick Wine Cellars, operating the small winery for six years, while also searching for the right locale to expand. In the summer of 2015, he and his wife, Jessica, purchased a 26-acre farm in Frankford, DE and the transition from Fenwick Wine Cellars to Salted Vines Vineyard and Winery began. In November of 2016, Salted Vines opened its doors, and they have not looked back since.

Regan Roberts-Deck

Custom Mechanical

Regan is a second-generation owner and leader of Custom Mechanical. Since 1981, Custom Mechanical has been a family-owned and family-operated business serving the coastal Delaware and Maryland. Since its’ inception, the company has grown from a two person shop to over 30 dedicated employees today, and built a solid reputation by providing professional and courteous HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and home performance services to homeowners.

Wesley Paulson

Clear Space Theater Company

Wesley has been Executive Director of Clear Space Theatre for 6 years, embracing its’ mission of inspiring audiences, artists, and students by providing high-quality performances and educational experiences. Wesley was hired in the midst of reorganization and has led Clear Space to become a leader in the vibrant performing arts community in Coastal Delaware. Clear Space is a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization founded in 2004 with three facets: The Acting Company, The Arts Institute, and On Tour.

SCORE Delaware and the Bethany Fenwick-Area Chamber of Commerce have the common objective of growing the economy and workforce in Sussex County. SCORE Delaware is a non-profit which works closely with the Small Business Administration (SBA) by providing free and confidential mentoring to new and existing small businesses. The Bethany Fenwick Area Chamber develops and implements destination events, participates in advocacy efforts, and provides opportunities for networking, marketing and education, with a goal of improving member success and enhancing the quality of life throughout the Quiet Resorts Area.
