Event Description:

Every entrepreneur has the moment -- that time when hard work finally pays off, when a long-desired opportunity or an unexpected crisis presents itself and the entrepreneur has to decide how to react. The moment can be stressful, and for good reason. It can be a turning point for any business, but only if it’s managed properly. And as entrepreneurs can attest, it isn’t always clear what the right move is. Success takes guts. It takes sweat. It takes a lot of hard work -- first to have reached the moment, and then to prepare for what happens next.

Join us for a panel discussion, presented by SCORE Delaware, and learn from successful local business owners and hear the story of how each of these entrepreneurs faced either an opportunity and/or an existential crisis, how they successfully handled it and the lessons learned along the journey.

Panelists:

Keynote Speaker, Jack Burbage

Blue Water Development

Blue Water Development was founded in 1991 when John purchased his first development in 1991. Joining forces with his two sons, they purchased three more developments, as well as two commercial properties and a campground. The men then shifted their focus toward the hospitality industry, and the corporation now owns six upscale campgrounds, nine hotels, and additional hospitality attractions.

Adrian Mobilia

Salted Vines Vineyard & Winery

After moving to Delaware in 2008, Mobilia opened Fenwick Wine Cellars, operating the small winery for six years, while also searching for the right locale to expand. In the summer of 2015, he and his wife, Jessica, purchased a 26-acre farm in Frankford, DE and the transition from Fenwick Wine Cellars to Salted Vines Vineyard and Winery began. In November of 2016, Salted Vines opened its doors, and they have not looked back since.

Regan Roberts-Deck

Custom Mechanical

Regan is a second-generation owner and leader of Custom Mechanical. Since 1981, Custom Mechanical has been a family-owned and family-operated business serving the coastal Delaware and Maryland. Since its’ inception, the company has grown from a two person shop to over 30 dedicated employees today, and built a solid reputation by providing professional and courteous HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry and home performance services to homeowners.
