To apply, fill out the application on the back of this form or create a document that covers the three main areas listed and submit it by December 15, 2020 per the instructions on the form. Explain as best you can the efforts your company has put forth to hire service members or veterans. Be sure to include your history of hires over the years. In addition, if your company or employees of your company have worked to prepare our service members, veterans and their families for the workforce through job readiness initiatives, tell us all about this work. And finally, anything your company or employees of your company have done promoting across Delaware the benefits of hiring service members and veterans to others, let us know about that. This is all laid out in the form on the back – just be sure to get your submission in by December 15, 2020 to be in the running. Awards will be presented by the Governor at our annual State of the Guard event, and will be held on Friday, February 19, 2021.

Delaware “Warrior Friendly Business” Annual Award

The Joint Military Affairs Committee (JMAC) and Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce’s Military Affairs Committee established an annual award for one large business (50+ employees) and one small business (less than 50 employees).

Eligibility: Any company in Delaware can be nominated by the following organizations or their members: Delaware State Chamber of Commerce, New Castle County Chamber, Central Delaware Chamber of Commerce, The Delaware Workforce Investment Board, The Delaware Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve, The Middletown Area Chamber of Commerce, any service member or veteran who works for a Delaware employer and serves or has served in the armed forces.

Name of Nominator:  

This award will go to the company recognized by the JMAC. Please provide details on how your nominee has performed in each of the following categories:

I.  Efforts towards Hiring service members or veterans:

II Efforts towards preparing our service members, veterans & their families for the workforce:

III Efforts towards promoting outside of their own business the benefits of hiring service members and veterans:

The award winners will be selected by the JMAC and the award presented to the businesses at the annual ESGR banquet. A plaque is prominently displayed by the state in the Wilmington office of the Governor with the annual winners for each year listed and a trophy will be presented to the winning companies.
