As Delaware's 152nd General Assembly began its session, the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) urged lawmakers to prioritize small business interests. NFIB State Director Mike O’Halloran released a statement emphasizing the critical role small businesses play in Delaware's economy and called for legislative support.

"Small business is the backbone of Delaware’s economy, anchoring Main Streets across the state and creating a majority of all net new jobs," said O’Halloran. He highlighted challenges such as an inequitable tax burden and regulatory obstacles that local businesses face daily. O'Halloran also noted potential new threats on the legislative horizon.

The NFIB expressed its willingness to collaborate with Governor Carney, his cabinet, and the Senate and House to implement policies beneficial to small businesses. "We stand ready to work with Governor Carney, his cabinet members, and the Senate and House to adopt policies that help improve the business environment for small businesses in Delaware."

The NFIB has represented small business interests for nearly 80 years, advocating at both federal and state levels. It remains dedicated to supporting America's small and independent business owners.
