The Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT) has announced an emergency closure of Cedar Beach Road between Lighthouse Road and Marina Lane in Sussex County. The closure is due to a mechanical issue and will remain in effect until further notice.
For those traveling from the north of Cedar Creek Drawbridge, the detour involves following Cedar Beach Road (SR36) north to Coastal Highway (SR1), then south on Coastal Highway to Slaughter Beach Road, east on Slaughter Beach Road to Bay Avenue, and finally north on Bay Avenue to Cedar Creek Drawbridge.
Travelers coming from the south of Cedar Creek Drawbridge should follow Bay Avenue south to Slaughter Beach Road, west on Slaughter Beach Road to Coastal Highway (SR1), north on Coastal Highway to Cedar Beach Road (SR36), and then east on Cedar Beach Road to Cedar Creek Drawbridge.
